Build 10586.29 is the latest update available for the users in the Windows Insider program. This is also the first update to roll ut to non-Insiders too, who use a Lumia 950 or a 950 XL. Even though the build brings visible improvements in the OS performance compared tot he previous builds, the installation in the first place is giving a tough time to some of the Insiders.
Majority of the users reported a ‘false low storage notifications’ in which the update has been asking the users to free up space on their device to install the build when there actually is lot of room on the device to accommodate the update. The update, hence, is being stuck at 0% and some Insiders aren’t even notified about the update.
Microsoft acknowledges these issues with the build 10586.29 and has replied to a thread mentioning that they are investigating the cause for the problems in the build. And for the time being, they are pulling back the update from their server. Those who already installed the update would not be having any problems and can continue using the build. As for those who are still receiving the low storage notification, you can ignore it without worry.
We are aware of issues related to the recently published Windows 10 Mobile update, including: update not being offered, update appearing to get stuck at 0%, and pesky low storage notifications. The team is working on fixes and improvements to the upgrade experience in the short term and with future releases. In the meantime, we have unpublished the 10586.29 update for Windows 10 Mobile from our public update servers while we work through these reports.
For those of you who still see the low storage notification: while bothersome you can safely ignore this message.
For those of you who still have pending updates (OS or apps): make sure to plug your phone into a charger and leave untouched while it works through those items.
