“OK Google, Send a WhatsApp message to Matt: See you at lunch.” Soon you’ll be hearing yourself saying things like this to send messages to one another instead of typing the whole message physically. Your Android device will happily oblige and send the message for you to the concerned person via the mentioned app. Sending instant messages couldn’t be made any more easier for Android users. Google has added support for third party instant messaging apps like WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, WeChat and NextPlus.
The OK Google’s support was only up to the traditional text messages and it worked just fine. Now since the support is extended to instant messaging services as well and Google believes this will make the user’s work far easy than working their thumbs on the smart keypads of their Android devices.
The language that this feature supports currently is English, although the regions this could be used are not limited. Support for more languages is expected to be in the near future. All you need to have right now is the latest versions of your favorite messaging app and Google app on your Android device installed.
