Maps Windows 10

The new Maps app from Microsoft which was only limited to Windows 10 PC is now extended to Windows 10 for Phones. Aaron Butcher, Group Program Manager for the Maps team in Windows PC, Phone and Tablet group mentioned the news in a blog post on the Windows Blogs.

Any Windows Phone user with a build of 10051 of the new Windows 10 Technical Preview on their device can have the access to the new and improved Maps app.  SInce it is now made as a universal app, Maps is said to deliver a single experience through all the Windows devices.  Aaron Butcher writes:

This includes the best maps, aerial imagery, rich local search data, and voice guided navigation experiences from both Bing Maps and HERE maps, integrated together for the first time into a single app for Windows.

With this updated Maps, users can easily search for a particular location, or places like hotels, restaurants, shopping places with the help of pre-defined categories and by showing the details card for each place. Users also can make a reservation at a restaurant directly from the app says Aaron. When the user decides the destination, Maps also offer directions guided by voice navigation.
