Android 5.1 alarm clock volume

How do you change the alarm volume on your Android device? Obviously go to Settings -> Sound & Notification, you would say. This holds true only till Android 5.0 Lollipop. Android 5.1 update changed the way how this works.

You could now directly increase or decrease the volume of your alarm clock directly from the native Clock app. Head over to the Clock app on your Android 5.1 device and set the alarm for a time you wish. To adjust the level of volume you want your alarm to ring at, just press volume up/down button and the volume bar with a bell on its right appears on the top of the screen. Just move the slider to a desired volume level and you’re done! Tapping on the bell takes you to the system volume settings, which is off-topic right now.

Android 5.1 changed things for a lot of features in unexpected ways. This is one of them and there ae a few more that have already been written about in the previous posts. Calling it only a bug fixing update is just doesn’t give it much credit. What do you say?
