Android 5.1 is indeed only a minor update to the existing 5.0 Lollipop, but it surely does fix many of the things which were considered to be the minor bugs of Android version 5.0.
If you are already using 5.0 Lollipop, then you might have noticed that the Account settings actually does not allow the user to manually sync data to the synced accounts. Considering the fact that there is no control over syncing the data to the account, the ‘cancel Sync’ option becomes one that a user rarely uses.
You can call it a fix or an improvement, but Android 5.1 brings the ‘Sync Now‘ option to the menu of the Account Settings screen. When you tap on it, the data (Calendar, Contacts and Drive etc) would start syncing, and the menu then offers an option to ‘Cancel Sync‘ if the user wishes to do so to cancel the syncing process.
This could be a very minor issue to complain about in Android 5.0, but if at all the user cancelled sync between his drive or calendar or docs at any given time, it is true that Android 5.0 could not help him/her in getting that sync back again from his device. So that could be an important fix for some of the folks out there!
