Microsoft is reportedly in plans to expand Cortana, it’s personal digital assistant, to iOS and Android too. Using research from their artificial intelligence project named ‘Einstein’, Microsoft is working to produce a more advanced version of Cortana.
From a report from Reuters,
Later, Cortana will be available as a standalone app, usable on phones and tablets powered by Apple Inc’s iOS and Google Inc’s Android, people familiar with the project said.
But when asked about Cortana’s expansion beyond Windows, Reuters said Microsoft declined to make any comments.
Speaking about the kind of advancement that would come in the next roll out of Cortana, Eric Horvitz, managing director of Microsoft Research and also a part of the Einstein project said, “This kind of technology, which can read and understand email, will play a central role in the next roll out of Cortana, which we are working on now for the fall time frame.”
