Moto G 2nd generation and possibly the Moto G 1st generation handset also, have started receiving the latest Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update, the Droid Life reported.
Motorola has started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop to its Moto G devices in early Novemeber this year, but due to some unknown reasons, it has stopped pushing updates to the Moto G devices thereafter. There has been no announcement since then, but now reports are that users of Moto G (1st as well as 2nd gen) have been receiving the newest update to Android Lollipop i.e the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. Check out this post from Google+ which says that the Indian Moto G (2013) device received Android 5.0.1 update.
This update for Moto G 2nd gen has brought up the system version number to 22.21.25 and build number has changed to LXB22.46-25 while for the Moto G 1st gen, it is 220.21.25 and LXB22.46-25 respectively.
