Dropbox has updated its Android app that allows exporting files from Dropbox to the Android device’s external SD card. This will be beneficial to the users in such a way that they can have their files along with them stored in their device even when they are offline.
In an official blog post, they stated:
“Exporting Dropbox files to your SD card gives you an easy way to transfer all your stuff — meeting agendas, trip photos, shopping lists, and more — as you move between Android devices, even without an Internet connection. And, it’s a great way to have important files with you offline when you can’t save any more favorites directly to your device.”
In order to save files from Dropbox to your Android device’s external SD card, all it takes is a few simple steps. Go tot he file you want to export and select the ‘Quick Action‘ button to the right of the file. Tap on More -> Export -> Save to Device and finally tap on SD card.
In case there is no SD card option listed on your device, then in the Save To screen, choose the menu -> Settings -> Display advanced devices
This update of Dropbox for Android has also brought improved support for Android L and faster search performance.
