The Lumia Cyan update is now rolling out to the Lumia 620 Windows Phones in countries of India, Europe and Latin America. This has to be a good news, since the Windows Phone India’s official twitter account and Facebook page has posted an information of the Lumia Cyan availability wherein it was mentioned that India would be receiving the Lumia Cyan update for the Lumia 620 in the month of September.

So, that should be quite a relief to many Lumia 620 users in India who have been waiting for the update since long.

Lumia Cyan update is one of the major updates for Windows Phone and it offers the latest Windows Phone 8.1 OS. Of course the official update for the latest GDR 1update for the Windows Phone 8.1 is not yet released – it is currently available only for Windows Phones with Developers Preview. However, Lumia Cyan with Windows Phone 8.1 brings in a lot of improvements  with what the camera on Lumia phones can do and it also has many new features like the customizable start backgrounds, action center and many more.

How to smoothly update to Cyan on Windows Phone 8

All the Lumia 620 users of the aforementioned regions, connect your phone to Wi-fi and check for updates by going into the Settings menu of your Windows Phone to get the update notification. It is always recommended that users download the update through Wi-Fi and not through mobile data plan.

NOTE: Lumia Cyan update can be installed only on Lumia Devices without Developer Preview. Users need to downgrade the OS of the Lumia back to Windows Phone 8.0 to avail the update. This can be done via Nokia Software Recovery tool
