HTC has finally unveiled the much awaited HTC One (M8) for Windows. By doing so, HTC became the first mobile phone manufacturer to let the user choose a smartphone between two OS’es with similar hardware.
Earlier, Verizon has already leaked an introductory video of the HTC One (M8) just before the official launch by HTC.
While on the hardware side, the smartphone is the replica of what the Android model is. On the software side, the HTC One(M8) for Windows comes with Windows Phone 8.1 Update i.e the latest Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 which enables users to have access of customized start screen backgrounds, live folders, support for Cortana (limited countries), and all the other latest features that the Windows Phone 8.1 GDR1 supports. The smartphone also supports HTC’s exclusive Dt View case which allows accessing Cortana with a single swipe down.
As already expected, the HTC One (M8) for Windows will be available through Verizon and HTC announced that the pricing will be $99. There is no information as to when the smartphone will be expanding to other regions or to carriers other than Verizon.
