This is one exciting news to all mobile photography enthusiasts. Microsoft is inviting participants to show case their mobile photography skills at the Social Media week 2014.
The participants must send their best photograph to participate in this contest. The photograph must be captured by a mobile device, and this need not be a mobile device from Microsoft.
The description of the contest says:
“Mobile photographers are invited to submit their best work (newly created or already existing) that captures the theme ‘shared experience’. You can interpret the theme in whatever way you want – make us laugh, make us cry, make us think. The choice is yours. The only stipulation is that it was created on a mobile device (though, not necessarily a Microsoft one).”
“Microsoft will select 1 winner, who will have their work seen and displayed across the eleven cities hosting Social Media Week this September 2014 – from Miami to Johannesburg, São Paulo to Berlin.”
“They will also receive an all expenses paid trip to either London or Los Angeles for the five-day Social Media Week event. They will meet leading brands and agencies, participate in workshops and sessions and enjoy VIP access to the after parties.”
The contest consists of two rounds of which submission for Round One ends by August 21,2014. Voting for the submitted photographs by all the participants will start on August 21st, 2014 and will end by August 25th, 2014.
4 finalists will be chosen by Microsoft and its internal visual and creative team and another finalist will be chosen by the Community Choice.
For Round Two, each of this 5 finalists will be sent a Lumia 930 (Lumia Icon in the U.S) and are required to submit another photograph with the theme “always on, always connected”. From those submitted, one winner will be selected by Microsoft.
“Social Media Week is a biannual event, attended by over 60,000 people worldwide and THE place for brands and agencies to share the best digital and social insights, trends and information.”
