Starting today, the Nokia X, Nokia X+ and the Nokia XL smartphones will be receiving anew software update that will bring some big features and more enhancements to the phone.
The update will bring an App Switcher feature, which was introduced in the Nokia X2. When users swipe down from the top of the screen, they get to tap on the App Switcher icon. Users can select any app they want to switch to or they can close the app by tapping on the x mark at the bottom.
The other feature that the update brings to the Nokia X, Nokia XL and the Nokia X+ is that several Microsoft services like Outlook.com, OneDrive and OneNote all come integrated within the phone. Outlook.com will include support for multiple outlook accounts with push notifications and calendar/contacts syncing.
The biggest of all the features that this update brings to the Nokia X line of smartphones is the new and improved Nokia Store. The improved Nokia Store now has all the third party apps integrated in it so that users can easily search and install the apps they want to. Also, the update makes the Nokia Store performance more faster and searching is made easier.
So, all the Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL users, wait for the OTA update which will be rolling out from today. Your phone will automatically inform you whenever the update is ready but if you wish to check manually, go to Settings ->About Phone -> System updates -> Check Now.
NOTE: It is always recommended that users download the update over WI-Fi to avoid excess consumption of data on the mobile data plan. For any further information regarding the update, read here.
