Google made Google Maps available in Hindi from today. When any user searches for a place like New Delhi for example, the name ‘New Delhi’ appears both in Hindi and English, thus making it a lot more convenient for Hindi- speaking people to search on Google Maps.
These new maps in Hindi will be available on Google Maps on desktop and also on the Google Maps app for Android devices running on Android 4.3 and above.
To get the names of the places displayed in Hindi along with English, users have to select their preferred language as ‘Hindi’.
On a computer, sign in into Google Chrome using your Google account and change your language preference to ‘Hindi’. You can also select ‘Hindi’ option from below the search bar in the google.co.in page.
On an Android device running on Android 4.3 or above, in the device Settings, under ‘language and input’ menu, select ‘Hindi’ option.
