The rumored iPhone 6 with a 5.5 inch display, reportedly would not be launched until 2015 owing to production issues. The smaller 4.7 inch version of the iPhone 6 would debut this fall, though.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed on Sunday that while the Apple’s 4.7 inch variant of the iPhone 6 is expected to be launched this fall, the bigger 5.5 inch version would come out much later.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is facing problems with the new device’s in-cell touch panel and also the color unevenness of the device’s metal casing. While both the 4.7 inch and the 5.5 inch models are having trouble in these issues, the effects are more serious with the latter.
Kuo added that, the new scratch resistant Sapphire cover for the device’s display cover could not pass the drop test near term”. This could also result in delay of the launch of the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 as the problem enhances with a larger size.
Kuo pointed that the launch of this 5.5 inch iPhone 6 could as well be in 2014 but even if it happens, it would be after November.
However, Apple has not confirmed any of this or the existence of the iPhone 6 4.7 inch as well as the 5.5 inch models. But based on the past, Apple’s regular time frame of releasing new models of iPhone is between September and October. So let’s wait and hope for the best!
