The Indian mobile phone manufacturer, Xolo, is reportedly all set to launch a Windows Phone handset and it would be the lightest smartphone in the world. The times of India reported that sources told them that the company is getting ready to launch an ultra-light smartphone, that runs on Windows Phone 8.1 mobile operating system. This phone will be released under the Xolo Win series in July this year.
It is roumored to be weighing a under 100 grams, which beats Samsung Galaxy S4 mini which weighs 107 grams. If this happens to be true, then Xolo would surely be the company to produce the world’s first lightest smartphone. While the exact details are still unknown, the phone is said to have a 4.7 inch display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor.
This phone is expected to be priced around Rs.12,000. Based on that, it remains to be seen where the Xolo Windows Phone would stand, Lumia 630 currently being its only competitor.
However, this would not be the first Windows Phone to be launched into the Indian market, as its rival Micromax is all set to launch its first two Windows Phones later today. You can read about that here.
