Many people who use iOS devices use iCloud for their contacts with the intention that they can have their contacts everywhere and do not want to lose them. But unfortunately, sometimes after and iOS update on iPhone or iPad,the contacts list shows ‘no contacts’ on the iOS device. This can be a reason to worry. But luckily, there is no need to panic because the contacts are not completely gone, they are still safe in the user’s iCloud account and at the moment, they just aren’t showing up correctly. So here’s….
How to get back missing iCloud contacts after updating iOS on iPhone or iPad :
1. From the home screen of the iPhone or iPad, go to ‘Settings’.
2. Tap on iCloud.
3. If the contacts toggle is OFF, then turn it ON. When asked, instruct the iCloud to ‘Replace My Contacts’.
4. If the contacts toggle is ON , then turn it OFF. When asked to keep the contacts or delete the contacts from the iPhone or iPad, select ‘Delete from my [Device]’ and then turn the Contacts toggle ON again.
Don’t worry about hitting ‘Delete’. It will only delete the contacts from your local device. It will not erase any contact from your iCloud. You can cross check that all contacts are safe by logging in into your iCloud account from iCloud.com from your computer.
