Google rolled out an update to the YouTube app on Android allowing the users to select the quality of streaming. While the previous update allowed users to be able stream videos at 144p, 240p, 360p, 720p or an auto mode which detects the users internet connection and streams the video accordingly, this update added two new options.
Now this new update gives two streaming options -1080p and 480p – have been added to the YouTube app on Android. Install the latest version of the Youtube app from Google Play and while playing any video, just tap on the three dots that can be found on the top right corner of the screen and select the settings (the gear icon). Then select the streaming option of your choice to view the video. Just that the video you are watching should have been uploaded in the supported resolutions.
The update may not come to everybody immediately. Is this a feature you wanted for the YouTube app on Android? Comment and also let us know if you spot anything new in the app with the update!
